links 2 |
This is page 2 of my links. The first page was getting pretty crowded. I'll mostly
put directory type pages, and the more commercial site here, though there may
be some overlap. |
DIY search OK, now this one's pretty interesting, too. It's a search
engine for the little guy- no corporations, no big business' buying listings
at the top. As the name implies, it's for people that do it themselves. |
M4M3 This is a tiny little directory that actually has some interesting
photographic and art site links. |
GT Flowers This is the all things flowers site. It includes articles,
and a staggering directory of thousands of sites related to flowers. |
Cool Page This web site was built with Cool Page Pro. While this program
is far from the be-all and end-all of web authoring tools- I think it needs
major upgrades in the way pages under construction relate to each other and
are previewed, and more DTP like features in object and text alignment- it does
allow for true "what you see is what you get" web page creation, and is easy
enough for a beginner (or artist) to use. It's also quite competitively priced,
and it's nice to be able to buy software where every dime doesn't go to Bill Gates.
There's also a feature limited/adware version available for free. CONSIDER THIS A WARNING: COOLPAGE HAS RECENTLY (WITH v. 2.72) ADDED A NEW NAG SCREEN EVERY TIME YOU PUBLISH A PAGE THAT TAKES MORE THAN TEN SECONDS TO LOAD- THIS MEANS ANY PAGE WITH PHOTOS OR ARTWORK. IT'S MORE THAN SLIGHTLY ANNOYING, AND IS DESIGNED TO REQUIRE A MOUSE DRAG AND CLICK EVERY TIME- IT CAN'T BE ENDED BY HITTING THE ENTER KEY. IT MEANS A SORE WRIST WHEN MAKING MAJOR CHANGES TO A SITE. WHEN I POINTED THIS OUT THEY WERE LESS THAN RECEPTIVE TO ALLOWING THE NAG TO BE TURNED OFF EVEN BY EXPERIENCED USERS BECAUSE IT SAVES THEM A LITTLE TIME, AND THEY DECIDED THAT PEOPLE USING THEIR "PRO" VERSION (DOESN'T PRO STAND FOR PROFESSIONAL?) NEEDED TO KNOW THEIR OPINION, EACH AND EVERY TIME, EVEN AFTER SEEING IT FIVE HUNDRED TIMES, EVEN WHEN IT CAUSES PAIN. I CAN THEREFORE NO LONGER RECOMMEND COOLPAGE. AND IF ANYONE STARTS A CLASS ACTION BECAUSE OF REDUCED USABILITY, OR REPETITIVE STRESS INJURY, LET ME KNOW. |
Archive Angel I have no idea who these people are or what they do- they're
probably trying to become a new portal. I got a form letter from they saying
we're link exchange partners and asking why I haven't put their link up. That
would be because I never agreed to it. Now they have a link. I hope they're happy.

madcrazy another links site, divided by category. |
seekon This link will take you to the Walnut Creek listings of
Seek On. |
WebClipz Links to lots of free stuff on the web, but be warned, this
is a heavily commercial site. I'm not anti-commercial (hell, this site is semi-commercial).
I just wish they could do it in a less obnoxious manner. But they gave me a link, so I'm giving them one. |
Kelseypub This site offers links to clipart and wallpaper. |
Infinitee-Designs This site shows what Ralph Hawke Manis is doing with computer
generated art. |
SFstation This site offers things to do and links related to the San
Francisco Bay Area. |
The Wings Gallery The art of Karl Maenz, he's something of a jack of all trades,
photography from all over the world, and paintings in many different styles.
|
Outhouse Studios I'm not sure what to say about this place. They offer posters they call computer
printed fine art for $35 each. Is this art's leading edge, inexpensive and
good, or an expensive way to cover the spot on the wall? You decide. |
